Riding - AWOL Tour Book

[Safety] - [Hand Signals] - [AWOL Book] - [Helmet Laws] - [Riding]

The idea for the AWOL book got started when someone from an out-of-state Chapter came into the Rocky Mountain H-D dealership to get a stamp for their book. Troy saw it and thought it would be a great idea for our Chapter to use. He made a copy of it, showed it to Frank LaBarge, the Director at that time, and they put some new ideas in. It's been going strong for five years now, with new ideas added almost every year. The idea behind the book is to earn points for doing things either with the Chapter or out riding on your own.

You can earn points doing things with the Chapter by:

You can also earn points doing things not related to the Chapter I know a lot of people feel they have little or no chance of winning one of the top three spots, so they think why should I bother? This year we added a new challenge to the book so everyone has a chance to earn a reward. You can earn a patch (can you ever have enough patches?) this year for riding to the summit of ten 10,000 foot passes. Each person that completes the challenge will get a patch with a rocker for the year it was completed.

Hopefully, if you've not already bought your AWOL book for this year, you'll give it some thought. It's a fun thing to do, and it becomes sort of a record to help you keep track of where you've been and ridden during the course of the year.
